At Defide we hold various events throughout the year. December means Christmas party! We had a party in the Japan office ahead of the Vietnam office! Staff from the Tokyo and Vietnam offices also joined in Fukuoka, where our head office is located. In addition, staff who will join the company next year also participated, and this year's party had a lot of content!
Vietnamese office staff attending the party arrived in Fukuoka the day before! There are only few opportunities to wear long sleeves in Vietnam, located 3600 km south of Japan. Knowing the temperature of Fukuoka in advance they prepared warm outerwear for Japan. When the Vietnamese staff arrived, the Fukuoka office was excited and rejoiced in their first meeting!
After work, we headed to the Christmas venue. Upon arriving at the venue, having a wonderful atmosphere,
participants received disguises such as reindeer headbands, and the venue got in a Christmas mood right away!
This year's moderators were new graduates Mr. Neba of the System Development Dept. and Ms. Inadome of the UI Design Dept.!
The annual Christmas party has games with lots of prizes!
This year we played three games, two team games and one individual game.
Each table has to make the tallest tower using paper only! Some teams are building the tower smoothly, while others are collapsing on the way! It was a heated battle from the first game!
The second game is a telephone game using drawings. In the final drawing, the title and characters changed, and some teams changed dramatically, causing laughter at the venue!
The third game is a game in which players have to correctly guess the displayed image, and announce their favorite number to fill in the bingo. Among the images are Vietnam’s founding father Ho Chi Minh and Defide staff! Not only luxurious prizes, but also protein bars given to the correct answers were popular among some staff.
A big presenter from a distant country won the award of the team game! Ms. Doi of the UI Design Dept. Doi and Mr. Neba of the System Development Dept., dressed as Aladdin and Jasmine made their musical entrance! The venue was roaring when the duo made their appearance.
Then, Ms. Doi Aladdin rubs the lamp, Mr. Miyata, the Vietnam office CEO, dressed as Genie, appeared with a cheerful image and a magic was performed, further exciting the venue!
The party is still going on! The second party is at the golf bar. Inexperienced golfers were shaking putters with advice from experienced staff.
While using translator apps occasionally, the conversations between the Japanese staff and the Vietnam staff, such as talking about favorite cartoons and food, were also buzzing.
This year's Christmas party was also a fun meeting with laughter and tears. Unlike regular work, it is only at the Christmas party that we could get to know another side of the staff through games and conversations! I think that the bonds between the staff members have deepened further at this party. Defide keeps making great progress every day. Utilizing this teamwork, we aim for a further step up!
