KYUSHU ELECTRIC POWER CO., INC.
Monitoring Service
This monitoring service utilizes daily electricity usage data combined with proprietary analysis technology to detect changes in activity for individuals living alone in rental properties. If significant changes are identified, it notifies family members or other designated contacts about the tenant’s status. Addressing societal challenges such as declining property value due to unattended deaths and reluctance to accept elderly tenants, this service contributes to creating safer rental environments. By ensuring that irregularities do not go unnoticed for extended periods, it supports peace of mind for individuals living alone and promotes an inclusive housing market.
01 Activity Analysis Engine
The activity analysis engine processes 30-minute interval electricity usage data measured by smart meters to detect anomalies indicating unusual patterns. In addition to electricity usage data, the engine incorporates external factors such as weather information, ensuring more accurate analysis results. This advanced engine supports a system designed to provide tenants with a safer and more secure living environment.
02 Status Notification to Relatives or Designated Contacts
When an anomaly is detected, a step-by-step status confirmation notification process is initiated. First, an automated call is made to the tenant to confirm their status, with the call serving as the initial check. If the tenant cannot be reached, email and SMS notifications are sent to designated parties such as the property manager or family members, promptly alerting them of the situation. Additionally, the timing of notifications can be customized to suit specific needs, offering flexibility in response planning.
