Website version of Sony’s x-jiken Photo sharing Android app. By providing an environment that allows you to view posted photos on non-Android devices, we have improved convenience for existing users as well as attracted new users.
01 Seamless operability with the Android app
With JavaScript, we realized an ease of use the Android users are familiar with. This shows the Android users the ease of use of the Android app and conveys the enjoyment of x-Jiken to non-Android users.
Although the development time was limited, JavaScript is also used also for adjusting the photo layout so users can beautifully show the pictures they posted in a wide variety of sizes.
02 Data sharing with Android application through inter-server communication
Even within a limited development period, by carefully examining and adjusting the API specifications for managing post data developed for Android applications and applying the API to the development of the website, it is possible to synchronize the website with the Android application. While keeping in mind both the beautiful page design and the reduction of the communication amount with the post data management server, we adjusted the API specification so that they can be as compatible as possible.
